Accounting & Finance Assistant
Salary commensurate with experience, up to 30 hours per week
We are seeking an individual who is keen to take responsibility and ownership of this role.
Working directly with the Accounting & Finance Manager, you will be involved with full cycle accounting for several Condominium clients; ensuring all transactions are recorded and reported accurately, completely, on a timely basis and in accordance with all accounting, financial and legal regulations.
You may be involved with processing full cycle accounts payable, including processing vendor payments using banking software applications or cheque production, and investigating vendor queries.
You may also be involved in processing full cycle Accounts Receivable, including preparing deposits, processing client payments using banking software applications, processing returned payments, managing arrears, preparing unit invoices, and investigating client queries.
You may be tasked with managing payments and reporting requirements for unique payment arrangements such as loans, special levies, or other unique financing situations.
You may be responsible for preparing accurate monthly financial and draft annual budgets for client review, managing cash flow for multiple bank accounts for multiple clients, and/or preparing files for external accountants/auditors and completing year-end adjustments.
You will be monitoring and responding to email and phone financial inquiries from clients and vendors, and providing effective general administrative support in all areas related to accounting and finance.
Post-Secondary Certification in Accounting completed or in progress; work experience or other post-secondary equivalencies may be considered.
High attention to detail and accuracy especially with regards to financial reporting to stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving ability and desire to work challenges through to full resolution.
Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
Experienced with data entry from electronic sources and comfortable working in a paperless office.
Ability to work independently with honesty and integrity.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, OneNote etc.). and Quickbooks.
Familiarity with the Condominium Act of Alberta is an asset.
